Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - A total of 75 junior and senior South Kalimantan climbing athletes compete for the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) cup.


The provincial competition was opened by South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor. It is held in the wall climbing venue of Hasanuddin Sports Hall during 2 to 4 November 2018.
        
According to the Indonesian Climbing Federation (FPTI) of South Kalimantan branch Fathurrahman, the provincial competition is attended by 75 athletes, a combined of senior and junior.
         
"At least 10 FPTI of districts and cities send their athletes, plus climbing clubs and Students Nature Lovers (Mapala) from several campuses in Banjarmasin," he told.

Three classes are contested here, namely the speed world record class, lead classes for general and lead classes for the 15 year age (all classes for men and women).
  
He revealed many talented rock climbing athletes in South Kalimantan could even bring regional names to national till international events.

Meanwhile, South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor asked all athletes to compete seriously. He insisted athletes in this province must show high sportsmanship, this attitude will give birth to honesty, and the results will get a true achievement.
        
"I ask all athletes not to be lazy to practice because laziness is the base of failure. If you are diligent and serious, a strong determination is not to give up, achievements will be achieved," he explained.
