Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Banjarmasin Environment Agency (DLH) will get an additional budget of Rp2.7 billion in the 2018 draft revised local budget (APBD-P).

The head of the Banjarmasin Environment Agency Mukhyar here on Thursday said the additional budget is to procure a garbage transport fleet.

"Alhamdulillah, the revised budget (APBD-P) has been allocated a budget to buy a garbage transportation fleet," he said.

In the pure budget, the agency received Rp71 billion, and now on the revised budget, it becomes Rp73 billion. "The total additions amounted to Rp2,786,167,000.00," he said.

"The addition of this budget is allocated to buy 5 garbage trucks," he added.

According to Mukhyar, the addition of garbage transport fleet is specifically for transporting waste to the Regional Final Disposal Sites (TPA) which will be operated in 2019 in Banjarbaru.

According to him, this year the City Government actually received two garbage transport trucks from the central government through the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) and one truck as assistance from the South Kalimantan Governor.

Especially for garbage truck assistance from the Governor, he said, is given as a form of appreciation because Banjarmasin City in 2017 had successfully retained the Adipura trophy.

With the addition of this garbage transport fleet, it is expected that service to the public will improves.

"Even though the fleet that we currently have is still not enough, considering that the volume of garbage in this city is quite a lot on average. It must be dumped into landfills ranging from 600 to 700 cubic meters per day," he said.
