Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - M. Helmi Wahyudi, a son of a religious teacher in Kotabaru, has passed the selection of Indonesia Naval Academy (AAL) cadets this year.

The selection which began at the Regional Committee in Banjarmasin Lantamal (Naval Main Base), which was attended by participants from South and Central Kalimantan, has sent three best who passed the strict selection. They were sent to the Central Committee in Lapetal (Naval Employee Supply Agency) Malang.

Of the three best, finally, two were chosen, namely M. Helmi Wahyudi from Kotabaru and Oktariyan from Tanah Laut. They both succeeded together with 100 test participants from all over Indonesia.

M. Helmi Wahyudi, who is familiarly called Yudi, has never thought he will be succeeded at the national level. You see, the participants who took the selection have tremendous potential.

Some even have experience, because they have taken the test last year. So that competition was felt very tight. Moreover, there are participants who are sons of officials in the military.

"Alhamdulillah, armed with perseverance in practicing, continuing to learn, enthusiasm to increase potential, prayer and trust, finally able to graduate at the national level," said Salimi, Yudi's parent.

Yudi managed to set aside more than 5,000 registered participants. This selection is a pure selection, free of corruption, collusion and nepotism (KKN).

"We are not familiar with the committee. When delivering him for registering the test, I was not allowed to enter," he told.

"So only our son was allowed to go inside. I am waiting outside, in the guard post," said Salimi, an alumnus of the UIN Antasari Banjarmasin.

He claimed to be proud, as a resident of Kotabaru, his son could successfully represent South Kalimantan in the national arena. Thanks to the blessing of the family and teacher.

"Hopefully this can motivate our citizens that the sons of a religious teacher, even though in a hinterland, at the southeastern tip of South Kalimantan, we can compete at the national level," he said.

Yudi, who was born in Kotabaru on May 28, 2000, is an alumnus of state high school SMA 1 Kotabaru in 2018. Previously he attended the Islamic state elementary school MIN Kotabaru and the Islamic state junior high school MTsN 1 Kotabaru.
