Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded the trade balance of export-import in South Kalimantan in June 2018 with a surplus of US$ 596.90 million.


"South Kalimantan's trade balance continues to show a positive value with a surplus in June," Head of BPS South Kalimantan Diah Utami in Banjarbaru said, Saturday.

She said the surplus in June was US$ 596.90 million, higher than the surplus in May of US$ 506.32 million.

BPS statistical data shows the value of exports through ports in South Kalimantan in June 2018 reached US$ 690.47 million, up 0.35 percent compared to May's exports of US$ 688.07 million.

The main commodity contributing to exports was the mineral fuel group of US$ 563.74 million, a decrease of 11.11 percent compared to May which reached US$ 635.23 million.

The second group was animal/vegetable fats and oils which contributed US$ 98.39 million to exports or increased 186.01 percent compared to the previous month.. The third group of various chemical products with an export value of US$ 21.63 million, up 208.82 percent compared to May which was only US$ 7.00 million.

"The main export destination country is China with a value of US$ 238.43 million, India US$ 124.38 million and Japan US$ 86.60 million," she said.

While the value of June imports amounted to US$ 93.56 million, down 48.52 percent compared to May which reached US$ 181.76 million, down 3.16 percent compared to June 2017.

South Kalimantan's main import commodities consist of US$ 89.25 million in mineral fuels, US$ 1.93 million in floating ships and floating buildings and US$ 0.66 million in machine groups.

The optical device group was US $ 0.47 million and the salt, sulfur and lime group were 0.31 percent with an overall value of US$ 92.62 million or 98.99 percent of the total imports.

"The main import supplier country is Malaysia US$ 51.73 million, Singapore US$ 39.79 million, South Korea US$ 0.50 million followed by Japan and China," she said.
