Banjarmasin, (AntaranewsKalsel) - University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) progress to becomes a leading and competitive goes forward. Where the public college of South Kalimantan pride of society again add two professors.


"ULM now has 39 active professors and is ready to push the progress of university to move faster," said ULM Rector Prof. Sutarto Hadi, Tuesday.

The new professors who are just inaugrated are Prof. Dr. Ir H Syarifuddin Kadir from the Faculty of Forestry and Prof. Dr. Abdullah from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA).

Interestingly, Prof Dr Abdullah became the first professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Science. Thus, the ULM rector admitted very proud and hopes new professors to reappear in the Faculty of Mathematics and other faculties as well.

Sutarto revealed, currently there are 316 lecturers occupy the position of head lector, so that only one step to be professors.

He hopes in the future the number of professors at least 10 percent of all existing lecturers, which is 1,008.

"The quantity of publications in both national and international journals is ranked 48. I want at least to be 37th, so it should rise 11 levels above the current position," he pointed out.

Sutarto claimed to continue to encourage research productivity to accelerate lecturers to become professors. Like the incentive program for each publication of Rp10 million, the journals publishing Rp15 million to Rp20 million per research aid grant article and so on.

The inaugural ceremony of professors held in Rectorate Hall led by the Chairman of the Senate of ULM Prof. Dr. Ir H Gusti Muhammad Hatta.

On that occasion, Prof. Dr. Ir H Syarifuddin Kadir delivered a scientific oration entitled River Basin Area Management Through Green Revolution Approach to Support the Goal of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

While Prof. Dr. Abdullah presenting scientific oration entitled The Strategic Role of Chemistry in Various Sectors of Life.
