Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A pair of Siamese twins are now lying in the handling of doctors and nurses in Banjarmasin Ulin General Hospital.

The female conjoined twins were born on May 12, 2018 from Ilham Noor Ramadhan (30) and Hana Fitria (26), residents of Kayubawang Village (about 165 kilometers north of Banjarmasin), Central Hulu Sungai District (HST).

When met reporters, the couple admitted they are resigned, but still hope a miracle from Allah Almighty, so that both babies can be saved and become normal as other children.

Ilham admitted, he and his wife had actually known that Siamese twins will be born based on the results of the examination in Damanhuri Hospital in Barabai when the age of eight months.

"Knowing that we are resigned, because it is the will of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala and as His servant we accept what it is," said Ilham.

Meanwhile, Ulin Hospital's doctors team said the current condition of conjoined twins is still not fully stable.

Babies, who are temporarily named Hana one and Hannah two, still use breathing apparatus and must be incubated.

Chairman of the team of doctors who deal with twin babies, Prof. Ari Yunanto said it took six month to one year to restore the condition of the baby and currently the team is still checking the parts that stick.

"The hearts are two tandem, kidney are two couples, and one liver," he said during a press conference at Ulin Hospital accompanied by other members of doctors team.

He said, in handling the conjoined twins, they not only deploy the entire energy from Ulin Hospital, but also will invite doctors from Dr Sutomo Hospital Surabaya, East Java.

"We will also take all the teams from the team of child surgery, radiology, anesthesia, laboratory, heart surgeon, and liver surgeons to follow up the conjoined twins," Ari concluded.
