Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan 18/5 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Member of Ombudsman RI Dadan S Suharmawijaya said based on the result of health service investigation in South Kalimantan it still need improvement, such as calibration laboratory at hospital.


When meeting with South Kalimantan Secretary Abdul Haris and several directors of the province hospitals in Banjarbaru on Friday, Suharwijaya said the hospitals also still lack in the availability of electromedic labor.

"South Kalimantan needs the addition of a calibration laboratory and electromedic officers at the hospital, and this issue is of serious concern to us," he said.

The ombudsman visit to South Kalimantan is to investigate the calibration of health equipment to improve public services.

The activity, he added, becomes a very important thing in the tool of health, as an effort to improve the service to the patient or society, especially on health equipment that is routinely used every day in health service facilities.

Currently there are only 2 calibration laboratories in South Kalimantan serving all hospitals in the Kalimantan region. In addition, the electromedic worker is very inadequate in number.

Regional Secretary Abdul Haris Makkie, who was accompanied by Director of Ulin General Hospital, Sambang Lihum Mental Hospital, Dental and Oral Hospital, and Ansari Saleh Hospital Banjarmasin, said that his office will coordinate with the hospital in South Kalimantan to immediately follow up the ombudsman's expectation.
