Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Chairman of the Indonesian Council of Ulemas (MUI) Prof. Dr. KH Ma`ruf Amin said lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) is a deviant behavior that is not justified by all religions.
"The view of MUI is LGBT as deviant behavior is not justified by all religions and not in line with Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution," he said in Banjarbaru on Wednesday.
He was speaking after the closing of the 6th Ijtima Ulama of MUI's Fatwa Committee discussing the strategic nationality, contemporary religion and legislation issues.
He said the MUI since 2014 has issued fatwas against LGBT activity and behavior is a form of crime and is forbidden in Islam.
He explains, LGBT sexual activity can also cause a disease that is harmful to the health and sources of infectious diseases, such as HIV / AIDS has not been found the cure.
"MUI's fatwa number 57 year 2014 on lesbian, gay, sodomy, and obscenity says LGBT activities and behavior is forbidden for a form of crime," he said.
According to him, in addition to the discussion of MUI's view on LGBT, he also gave an appreciation to the DPR and the government who immediately completed the discussion of the draft of the Criminal Code (KUHP).
He insisted that MUI through the fatwa commission also requested that the age limit on the crime of adultery committed by adults against same-sex children is eliminated.
Ijtima` ulama which is centered in Al Falah Islamic Boarding School Banjarbaru discussed through four commissions representatives of 34 MUI from all over Indonesia. The 6th Ijtima was opened by Minister of Religious Lukman Hakim Syaifudin on Monday (7/5) and closed by MUI chairmanWednesday afternoon witnessed by South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor.
