Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Panel of Judges in corruption cases with defendant former PDAM Bandarmasih President Director Muslih imposed a jail sentence for 1 year 5 months or 17 months and a fine of Rp50 million subsided one month confinement. 

"The defendant was found guilty of violating Article 5 Paragraph (1) Sub-Paragraph a of Law Number 31/1999 in conjunction with Law Number 20/2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption on Junto Corruption Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code," said Chief Judge Sihar Hamonangan Purba in Banjarmasin, Tuesday. 

In the hearing of alleged corruption on draft regulation (raperda) capital participation of Banjarmasin Municipal Government to PDAM Bandarmasin in Corruption Court (Tipikor) of Banjarmasin, Sihar together with judge member Dana Hanura and Afandi Widarijanto read out the decision letter for about one hour from 10.00 to 11.00. 

Besides Muslih, former PDAM Bandarmasih Finance Manager Trensis was also sentenced simultaneously. In contrast to his superiors, Trensis was sentenced to lighter, ie 1 year in prison and a fine of Rp50 million subsided 1 month confinement. 

On the verdict of the judge, Muslih who met reporters after the hearing admitted directly accept it. "In accordance with our pledoi, whatever the judge's decision we accept and it is a risk we have to face," he said. 

Muslih who will get a cut of detention for about 4 months from the verdict was also hoping PDAM still get support from the public. 

"I hope that the existing regulation continues, so the PDAM continues to provide services to the community," he said. 

Meanwhile, the public prosecutor of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Amir Nurdianto stated respecting the judge's verdict and will report to the leadership to take a stand whether to accept or appeal. 

"But I personally appreciate the judges and the verdict is good because the consideration is in accordance with our charges and our demands," he said.
