Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Marine Lieutenant Colonel (P) Wijayanto officially serves as a new Commander of Banjarmasin Naval Base (Danlanal) to replace Marine Colonel (P) Oky IZ Dipura.

"I congratulate the new naval base commander and thanks and greatest appreciation to the former commander for making a lot of work achievements," said Naval Main Base (Lantamal) XIII Tarakan Commander First Vice Admiral Ferial Fachroni in Banjarmasin on Tuesday.

The office handover ceremony was held in the courtyard of the former Office of South Kalimantan Governor on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Banjarmasin. The governor also attended the ceremony.

Ferial in his speech emphasized the importance of the Naval Base role to support the work of the Navy unit.

"The working area of Banjarmasin Naval Base which is under the command of Lantamal XIII Tarakan is the territorial waters of the Indonesian Archipelagic Sea (ALKI) II which is quite crowded, as one of the entrances to the island of Kalimantan. The role of the Navy is expected to maintain the stability of marine security as well as help the local government in its economic development," he said.

Meanwhile, Marine Lt Col (P) Wijayanto, who used to serve as Commander of KRI Teluk Ratai 509, requested the support of all parties so he could carry out the task the best as possible.

"I must be able to maintain the achievements of my senior Abang Oky, so I ask the support of members and all parties who enter the work area of Banjarmasin Naval Base," said the alumni of Navy Academy of 1996.

Meanwhile, Marine Colonel (P) Oky IZ Dipura subsequently served as a Major Assistance Officer (Paban) Command for the Doctrine Development of Naval Education and Training (Kodiklatal) in Surabaya.

Oky hoped the good relation or silaturrahmi will never break up to all parties who have helped so much during his duty in Banjarmasin.
