Rantau, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A deer in Rantau City Forest, Tapin District, died suspected of indigestion after a doctor found a plastic trash weighing 2 kilograms in his stomach on Wednesday morning.
The veterinarian Triasmoro, who handled the deer, said the deer died from a problem with digestion filled with foreign objects in the form of plastics from food and beverage waste.
"We found about 2 kilograms of plastic in the stomach of the deer after we did the visum," he said.
Previously the same thing happened to the hind or female deer who first died about a week ago with the condition many foreign objects in the form of plastic in its digestion.
"A week ago the female deer died first with the same conditions," he said again.
Acting Head of Agriculture Agency Wagimin said that the deers were found dead by the guards who daily took care of the animals who since three months occupy the cage in the Rantau City Forest.
"The first who found it was guard when he wanted to feed in the morning, but was found dead," Wagimin said.
Wagimin explained that the male deer was reportedly did not to eat for three days, so in Sunday (3/12) he with the veterinarian directly monitor the condition of the animal.
"We have given treatment in the form of giving vitamins to the deer," he said again.
Wagimin also regretted the mischievous action of people who throw away the waste or feed the deer with foreign objects that could harm it.
"The regent wants the deer to be an entertainment for the community, but public awareness is still lacking, especially the behavior to the deer," he said.
