Police examines scene of PLTU tower collapse

Tanjung, South Kalimantan 30/8 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tabalong Police Resort, South Kalimantan, conducts an examination on the collapse tower site of the Steam Power Plant (PLTU).

Tabalong Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Hardiono in Tanjung on Wednesday said the scene examination (olah TKP) was a continuation of the investigation on the accident at the PLTU project site.

"We present two expert witnesses from the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency," explained Hardiono.

The scene examination itself is to determine the cause of the collapse of building construction of cooling towers of the PLTU.

Chief of Crime Detective Adj Comr (AKP) Mars Suryo Kartika while leading this activity said the cause of the collapse is still waiting for the expert witness.

The two expert witnesses Sigit Mugiarto and Din Mahya Setiawan should see first hand the design of building construction, quality and quantity specifications up to the operational standards.

Previously, the work accidents at the location of the construction of steam fueled power plant (PLTU) at the Gunung Batu, Mabuun Village, caused seven workers injured after the cooling tower made of light steel collapsed.

The PLTU project in Tabalong is being built by Tanjung Power Indonesia (TPI) with a capacity of 2 x 100 megawatt.
