South Kalimantan's exports decreases in June

Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan 3/8 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded the export trade balance in South Kalimantan in June decreased by 16.95 percent, while import increased by 5.41 percent.

"The value of exports through ports in South Kalimantan in June reached US$547.75 million and imports US$96.62 million," said Head of South Kalimantan BPS Diah Utami in Banjarbaru on Thursday.

She said the export value in June was increased if compared to exports in June 2016 which reached US$437.50 million.

The main commodities of the largest export contributors were the mineral fuel group US$443.28 million followed by the animal fat and animal and chemical product groups.

"The main export destination countries are China with a value of US$158.68 million, India US$124.20 million, and Japan US$76.58 million," she said.

Meanwhile, import value in June amounted to US$96.62 million up 5.41 percent compared to May imports of US$91.66 million. When compared to June 2016, then imports rose 42.36 percent.

The main commodity of South Kalimantan imports from the mineral fuel group was US$81.51 million, mechanical and mechanical equipment group US$8.42 million and machine group US$1.53 million.

"The main supplier of import countries are Singapore with a value of US$75.65 million, South Korea US$10.57 million, and Malaysia with a value of US$7.83 million," she said.

South Kalimantan's trade balance remained positive in June with a surplus of US$451.14 million, smaller than May's surplus of US$567.87 million.

"Cumulative during January-June 2017 noted a surplus of US$3,042.67 million greater than the January-June 2016 surplus of US$2.090.37 million," she said.
