Tanjung, South Kalimantan 2/8 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) disseminates Ministerial Regulation No. 34/2017 on the licensing of mineral and coal mining (minerba) in Tabalong District, South Kalimantan.

Head Sub-Directorate of Mineral and Coal Mining Technical Supervision of ESDM Ministry Eko Gunarto in Tanjung on Wednesday said the licensing is simpler than the previous regulation.

"In Ministerial Regulation No. 34/2017 the amount of licensing in the field of mineral and coal mining is only six, simpler than before," said Eko.

The six mining business licenses are Mining License (IUP) exploration, Special Exploration IUP, Production Operation IUP, and Mining Services License.

This was stated by Eko in Technical Guidance of Business Management and Mining Services which was attended by 150 participants from PT Adaro Indonesia and its partners.

On the same occasion, Eko gave an explanation related to Mining Safety Management System (SMKP) according to the ESDM Ministerial Regulation No. 38/2014.

"Mining companies are required to implement the Mining Safety Management System, including having mining technical head and operational responsibilities," Eko explained.

Participants also got a more detailed explanation of the Registered Certificate (SKT) by Section Head of Standard Director General of Mineral and Coal Mining of Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Horas Pasaribu.

According to Horas, one mining company has only one Mining Service License (IUJP) or SKT.

"It is impossible for a company to have two different SKTs and SKT can be issued by the ministry or the provincial government depending on the area of operation," said Horas.
