Barabai, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Central Hulu Sungai Tengah (HST) Regent Abdul Latif said his district is now in a state of emergency of illegal drugs circulation, especially Zenith.


"The arrest of a nurse who was hiding 80,040 Zenith pills is a proof of the increasing drug distribution in Barabai," said the Regent here on Saturday.

This condition made the HST Regency motivated to establish the District Narcotics Agency (BNK) to increase supervision, prosecution, and suppress the case number of Zenith in this region.

While the police force is now more active to develop cases until the raid to this drug dealer.

From one night stall in Telang Village, HST Police Chief AKBP Mugi Sekar Jaya revealed two dealers, NS (47) and RM (63), arrested with evidence of 42 pills of Zenith and money proceeds Rp285 thousand sales.

Previously, the police also arrested a man with initials MN He often hung in the parking lot Pasar Baru Keramat Barabai with evidence 56 Zenith pills wrapped in newspaper.

Suspected MR (30) was detained at Antasari Street, Barabai Sub-district, with evidence of 2,300 Zenith pills from Banjarmasin.

"We also secured KM (28), a resident of Tabudarat Hilir Village, South Labuan Amas Subdistrict, with evidence of 105 Zenith pills hidden under a banana tree," said Mugi.

The number of Zenith suspects who succeeded in securing the ranks of the District Police HST became one proof of this area became the target of drug dealers to the village area.

The risks of Zenith dealers and users are relatively mild as they are only threatened with the Health Act of 1976 jo 196 No. 36 of 2009 on the prohibition of circulation permit with a punishment of less than one year so as not to have a deterrent effect.
