The District Government of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, handed over logistical assistance to victims of fire on Jalan Tirawan, Baharu Utara Village, Pulau Laut Sigam Sub-district.
Deputy Regent Syairi Mukhlis said this assistance is a form of expression of concern of the Kotabaru government toward the disaster that befell its citizens.
"Today we visit fire location in Baharu Utara Village. Three houses of residents were affected by the disaster. On behalf of the district government and Regent of Kotabaru HM Rusli also expressed his condolences,” he said when delivered the assistance as reported on Thursday.

Deputy Regent asked the families affected by the disaster to always be patient and learn from this incident, because everything that happens must have a lesson.
“Hopefully this incident will give patience and fortitude, especially for the families affected by the disaster,” he said.
He also appreciated related agencies in handling the disaster, especially the Regiona Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD).
One of affected residents expressed his gratitude for the assistance and encouragement given by the governemnt, especially the visit of Deputy Regent.
“We would like to thank the Regent and Deputy Regent to have given us such a great attention by providing assistance that we can benefit from,” he said.
The assistance handed over by Deputy Regent were basic food, blankets, folding mattreses, tickets, hygiene kids and eating and drinking equipment.
Based on information from resident, Kasriah (60), the fire accident occured on Friday morning, May 16, 2025 around 08.30 Wita. Three houses were destroyed by the fire, while the cause of fire still under police investigation.
