HSS police has a program to visit the poor

Kandangan, South Kalimantan, 24/4 (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Hulu Sungai Resort Police has a program to visit poor residents, especially those in remote areas such as the Meratus Mountains.

Loksado Police Chief First Inspector (Iptu) Kristian Safari in Kandangan on Sunday revealed that they routinely implement the "Sambang Desa" program, which is a visit to the poor to remote villages, such as in Loksado sub-district.

Sambang Desa activities are conducted to find out first hand the condition of the people whose lives are concerning, among others in Lumpangi, Loksado, and Haratai villages.

"We get reports that the condition of some people in the village are quite apprehensive, so we immediately conduct a review," he said.

Sambang Desa involved Loksado chief police, head of community development unit, Bhabinkamtibmas, police women and other members. They come to provide basic food, snacks and used clothes.

The residents who were visited, among other was Kurniah, a widow (80 years), resident of Kupang Hamlet, Lumpangi Village, who live alone, with conditions paralyzed, eating only given by neighbors.

Also Adawiyah (75 years) in Muara Kitar Hamlet, Lumpangi Loksado Village, who lives with her 10-year-old granddaughter, orphaned. They survive from the wages of helping neighbors, their house was built by the community in a mutual assistance utilizing bamboo materials.

Furthermore, Ilma (70 years), a resident of Urui Hamlet, Loksado Village, who lives alone with mild stroke conditions, walks with sticks, can not work, eat also from the neighbors.

Towards Kadayang Hamlet, the team must went through a fairly heavy field with a steep uphill and a steep derivative, right-left path with deep ravine. The roads are partly still rocks, and the ground is slippery, so residents should be very careful especially when it rains.

These conditions making some members of the Sambang Desa team fell from motorcycle, so the trip became long and tiring.
