S Kalimantan's export-import dropped in February

Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan 4/4 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that the trade balance of exports and imports of South Kalimantan has decreased significantly in February 2017 compared to the previous month.

"The value of exports through ports in South Kalimantan in February fell by 25.44 percent and imports fell by 9.80 percent," BPS chief Diah Utami said in Banjarbaru, Tuesday.

She said that South Kalimantan export value in February was recorded at US$ 496.85 million, down when compared to exports in January reached US$ 666.34 million.

The main commodity contributed the biggest exports is of mineral fuels group amounted to US$ 390.07 million, followed by the group of fats and oils of animal and timber groups.

"The main export destination is China's with a value of US$ 137.76 million, then US$ 103.46 million to India and Japan US$ 60.65 million," she said.

Meanwhile, the import value in February reached US$ 118.14 million, down 9.80 percent compared to imports in January amounted to US$ 130.97 million  up 59.95 percent compared to February 2016.

Main commodities of imports were mineral fuels US$ 97.27 million, groups of machines and mechanical appliances US$ 15.68 million and group of ships US$ 1.90 million.

"The main countries supplier namely Singapore with a value of US$ 94.90 million, China US$ 11.16 million and Malaysia US$ 5.5 million," she said.
