Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan, March 21 (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan recorded a decline both in exports and imports respectively down 6.02 percent and 32.42 percent in 2016, its Governor H Sahbirin Noor said. 


In 2016, the province's exports were valued at only US$5.30 billion , down 6.02 percent from 2015, the governor said in accountability report here on Tuesday.

Imports of the province were valued at US$938,000 , down 32.42 percent from 2015, he said in a plenary session of the regional legislative assembly.

The quieter trade left the province with a surplus of US$4.37 billion , up from US$4.25 billion in the previous year.

The governor said a significant increase was however, recorded in the regional Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2016 both on current price and constant price.

The regional GDP on current price reached Rp146.3 billion in 2016, up from Rp137.29 billion in 2015 ,a d on constant price the regional GDP increased from Rp110.8 billion in 2015 to Rp115.7 billion in 2016, he said. ***3*** (AS)
