Taman Budaya performs bakuntau

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 25/2 (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Cultural Park (Taman Budaya) featuring traditional martial arts "bakuntau" performances in the arts building of Balairung Sari, Saturday night.

The pencak silat like martial arts performance was bandaged with theatrical act displayed by Studio Art Ading Bastari of Barikin, Central Hulu Sungai (HST).

While the kuntau players were from Datu Macan Kumbang school of kuntau of the Haruyan village, HST. Their show entitled "Steps Toward Indigenous".

Various moves of legendary kuntau shown in their performances interspersed with drama and dance.

The rarely seen performances turned out to get pretty great attention, even Bairung Sari building with a capacity of 400 seat was full.

Kuntau, according to Head of South Kalimantan Cultural Park Fahrurrazi, is an art that combines elements of art and sports that are similar to pencak silat.

However kuntau not just a self-defense, but a long way in the essence of fusion between the physical and spiritual activities in the movement that attractive.
