Adaro Logistics, through its business unit PT Indonesia Multi Purpose Terminal (IMPT), planted thousands of mangrove seedlings in the mangrove area of Kurau Sub-district, Tanah Laut District, South Kalimantan.

PT IMPT representative Moses Maulana said that the planting in Bakau Village is a form of the company's commitment in keeping the balance between operational activities and preserving the environment.

“We believe that environmental preservation is a key to a better future, that is why the company continues to contribute in environmental preservation through various programs of CSR,” Maulana expounded, Monday.

Its effort to support environmental conservation and sustainability of coastal ecosystem is part of Adaro Logistics' corporate social responsibility (CSR) to reduce the impact of climate change and increasing the quality of environment around the company's operation.

In addition, he said, the planting action helps to prevent the coastal abration, providing habitat for various animals as well as improving the welfare of coastal communities.

It proved, Moses added, that Adaro Logistics is not only focused on achieving business target, but also cares about environmental sustainability and people's welfare. 

The planting of 2,000 mangrove seedlings is expected to be the first step from various other environmental initiatives to be implemented by the company in the future.

This mangrove planting action received support from the local community. 

Muttaba, a representative of Kurau Sub-district, expressed his appreciation for the Adaro Logistics's initiative. 

“We really appreciate the step taken by Adaro Logistics and IMPT in preserving the environment, and hope this activity to continue and become an example for other companies,” he said.
