Tanjung, South Kalimantan 6/12 (AntaranewsKalsel) - PT Pertamina Exploration and Production Assets 5 Tanjung Field in Tabalong to be compensated with eight new oil and gas wells in the Kambitin and Warukin field following halt of oil and gas production on the Tepian field.


Oil and gas source in the Tepian field will be taken by PT Adaro Indonesia, said Akhmad Ruspandi of Government Affairs and Public Relations of PT Pertamina EP Asset 5 Tanjung Field here, Tuesday.

"The policy of the national government is Tepian field taken over as the Adaro coal mine, but Pertamina get compensation for the opening of eight new oil and gas wells," said Ruspandi.

In the Tepian field itself there are 20 oil and gas wells. Eight of which are still in production, while the rest are suspension wells or temporarily closed.

Meanwhile, from the central Office of PT Pertamina EP Krisna said that the state owned company does not question the Tepian field diverted into coal mines as long as to increase foreign exchange.

"By increasing the country's foreign exchange Pertamina does not question if the Tepian were taken over by Adaro , because we have compensation of new eight oil and gas wells in the Tabalong," said Krishna.

Currently the production of oil and gas of PT Pertamina EP Field Tanjung approximately 3,300 barrels per day and in 2017 is targeted to rise to 3,400 barrels per day.

As efforts to increase oil and gas production, Pertamina has discovered new oil and gas resources in the south region of Tabalong, namely in the Sub-district of Pugaan and is currently in testing stage.

In total there are about 150 oil and gas wells belonging to Pertamina in the district of northernmost of South Kalimantan province and old wells will also be re-optimized in order to produce oil and gas.
