Batulicin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The government of Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, todistribute food aid in the form of rice to the people who live in food-insecure areas in Kusan Hilir.


"There are two villages in Tanah Bumbu in food-insecure areas, Serdangan Village and Karya Bhakti Village in Kusan Hilir Sub-district," said Head of the Tanah Bumbu Regional Food Security Office (KPD) Akhmad Fauzi in Batulicin, Thursday.

The village, he said, included in the area of ??food insecurity caused by crop rice planted by farmers affected by floods made them failed to harvest. It caused people in the village difficult meal their families.

Moreover, people in the two villages were not recipients of rice for the poor (raskin), so that Tanah Bumbu administration immediately provides food assistance in the form of rice.

"Every family will receive about 15 kg of rice that have been prepared by the local government in the storehouses of food reserves," he said.

Total food aid to be delivered about 1.7 tons of rice to 115 families from two villages in Kusan Hilir.

He hoped, free rice aid to Serdangan and Karya Bhakti villagers in Kusan Hilir Sub-district can ease the burden of their lives.

Free rice from the Government of Tanah Bumbu has different categories to rice distribution to the poor from the central government.

"We want the people who live in prone to food areas to feed especially rice for their needs of everyday life," he said.
