Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan Antaranews) - Assistant Deputy Tourism Industry Ministry of Tourism Agus Priyono requested the Government of South Kalimantan along the district related to focus on developing and fix Loksado attraction in South Hulu Sungai.


According to Agus at the extracting selling value and branding seminar organized by Bank Indonesia Region South Kalimantan on Monday in Banjarmasin, Loksado now joints 88 priority areas for tourism development in the national strategic tourist area (KSPN).

"Since it entered KSPN, then Loksado will be one of the area will be developed by central government through various programs to spell-out," he said.

Thus, he added, provincial and district government, in the future should focus on tourism development, either its good infrastructure, micro small and medium enterprises, transportation, and cultural attractions in Loksado.

"If Loksado can be built as a comfortable, safe and beautiful attraction, the other tourism sectors, will automatically go up," he said.

Agus said the requirements must be met to make an area a sustainable tourist destination for tourists minimum must satisfy three elements: adequate infrastructure, such as easy transportation, convenient way to get to the location, the availability of adequate lodging and adequate sanitation.

Then, there is something that can be taken by tourists as a memento, so that micro, small and medium enterprises should be encouraged to grow and be more creative.

The last is the availability of attractions, there is something given to tourists, such as the cultural attractions, bamboo rafting, and more.

On promotion, he added, the Ministry of Tourism will help fully, as long as the local government is consistent in conducting events that are sold to the tourist.

"For promotion we take between one to two years, don't let the event cancelled after already promoted," he said.

In 2017, he added, the Ministry of Tourism will programmed to build one million "home stay" to support the development of tourism sector in Indonesia.

According to Agus, the tourism sector has now become one of alternative economic growth, especially post-drop in mining and palm oil in recent years.
