The City Government of Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, won the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) award for improving the Monitoring Center for Prevention (MCP) for 2022-2023 period.
 
Banjarbaru City with the leadership of Mayor Muhammad Aditya Mufti Ariffin ranked third nationally in the category of city government.

"Alhamdulillah, I received news that Banjarbaru wins an award from KPK and is ranked third nationally for the best improvement in KPK MCP performance for city government category," Mayor Aditya said expressing his gratitude, Wednesday.

The awarding was held at the National Coordination Meeting for Regional Corruption Prevention at the KPK's Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, Wednesday.

Aditya said that this success was proof of optimum performance of all Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) within the Banjarbaru City Government and the community participation in eradicating corruption.
 
He hopes the award will be a motivation as well as a joint commitment to enhance reporting and corruption eradicating actions by early detection of the crime in the "Kota Idaman" (the Dream City/ Banjarbaru's nickname).

"The award from KPK is proof that Banjarbaru government is consistent in preventing corruption and it is hoped that control of corruption will be of higher quality and faster," he said.
 
Meanwhwile, Banjarbaru's achievement of third place in the national KPK MCP award 2022-2023 had gone through a fairly long selection process.
 
KPK as the state's anticorruption agency has considered Banjarbaru's improving good performance  which has an impact on low corruption in the city.
 
Besides Banjarbaru, Binjai, Pangkal Pinang, Samarinda and Sorong governments also received the MCP KPK award in city government category.
