After the landslide occurred, the Tanah Bumbu Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that Mentewe Police are on alert at landslide location on Trans Batulicin-Kandangan kilometer 66-67.

“Mentewe Police and heavy equipment still on alert if further landslide occur,” said Tanah Bumbu BPBD Chief Sulhadi when confirmed here on Sunday.

He said landslide on Trans Batulicin-Kandangan Road km 66, Mentewe Sub-district, occurred on Wednesday evening at around 18.30 WITA (Central Indonesia Time Zone).

The, another landslide hit on Thursday at about 18.00 WITA.

“The worst landslide was at km 66,” he said.

Sulhadi informed that joint officers handled landslide using two heavy equipments, excavator and grader belonging to PT BKW.

“Now the condition in the field have been normal as usual since Friday morning,” said Sulhadi.

He appealed to drivers from Batulicin or Kandangan direction to avoid the Trans road during the rainy seasonconsidering it is prone to landslides.

“People would better take protocol road or Jalan Ahmad Yani during the rainy season to avoid landslides,” said Sulhadi.
