The Tanah Bumbu Culture, Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office (Disbudporapar) introduced the Karst Mantewe Civilization House, the Liang Bangkai Cultural Heritage Site to students.
Secretary of the office Muhammad Zabir here on Tuesday said that there were 100 students who attended the program. They were representatives of four junior high schools, SMPN Mantewe, SMPN Karang Bintang, SMPN Simpang Empat, and SMP Kodeko.
"The Karst Mantewe Civilization House is one of the Disbudporpar's activity program to promote the results of archeological research," said Zabir.
Tanah Bumbu has 15 cultural heritage objects spread across several sub-districts. One of them is Liang Bangkai Cave (Karst Mantewe) which has traces of ancient history.
From the results of research, ancient human fossils were found and some pantaings on stone walls are throught to have been made by ancient humans.

Zabir said that Disbudporapar is committed that this acitvity is for the advancement of culture, preservation and protection of cultural heritage sites in Tanah Bumbu.
Efforts that have been made include the house of civilization with field visits for school students at archeological sites.
He hopes students can learn the value of the past lives by being guided by archeological researchers or historians.
"Field visits to the archeological sites are form of educational destination. This activity is expected to foster tolerance in students," he said.
