Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Banjarmasin Tourism Agency is now offering kampung tua or old village of Sungai Jingah as a tourist destinations.


Head of Tourism Development of Tourism Agency Mohammad Khuzaimi here on Friday said Sungai Jingah will be promoted more aggressively as a location for a tourist visit.

Sungai Jingah in urban village of Sungai Jingah in the northern part of Banjarmasin is known as the location of old village (kampung tua), where about 20 old houses are still intact and well preserved.

Seeing this condition, he said, it is naturally if the area is promoted as a cultural heritage which is expected to lure more tourists come to the village.

At the location almost all old houses have Banjar cultural nuances. The typical house of Banjar among others are gajah manyusu (breastfeeding elephant), gajah baliku, bubungan tinggi (high ridge), pelimbangan, palimasan, balai laki (male hall) and balai bini (female hall).

Likewise ornament or carving in some corner of the house and the fence that contains a lot of meaning.

"We believe if this location developed will definitely acquire response in tourist visits, especially this location combined with the go along the river travel packages which is now marketed by the City Government of Banjarmasin," said Khuzaimi.
