Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Member of Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD) supported the traditional annual yacht race "Katir Race" in the Pulaulaut Islands became a tourist excellence destination of the district.

Deputy Chairman of DPRD Kotabaru H Mukhni AF in between visits with Regent H Sayed Jafar in the folk festival in the village of Teluk Aru, Sub-district of Pulaulaut Islands on Thursday appreciated the policy plan.

"In accordance with the vision and mission of regent as outlined in RPJMD (Medium Term Development Plan) one of which raise the potential of the tourism and agri-business in the current government work program, in addition to the infrastructure sector. It is a very appropriate policy," said Mukhni.

The reason, he added, Kotabaru have many tourism potential and its exotic not inferior to other areas already well known. Not only attractions, but also a number of community activities that have a fascination for tourists, both domestic and foreign.

Katir Race is a party of people who are already routinely become an annual event bu not many people know, including people of Kotabaru.

"Even Regent who firstly attended this event was amazed and excited, not only to the activities of the people named Katir Race, but also the location of the beach in the village of Aru bay is so beautiful and exotic," said Mukhni.

While various culinary of fishermen community which based on non-rice food become another complement to the attraction.
