Batulicin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Tanah Bumbu administration applies five days school system for early childhood education (PAUD), elementary till high school, and also for specific education, either of state or private school.


Head of Education Agency Sartono here yesterday said the application of the system base on Regent Decree No 188.46/272/DISDIK/2016 on the trial implementation of the system.

"While technical implementation for the respective unit of education will furthermore arranged by the Education Agency," he said.

He assured the five days school will not decrease learning hours in school which have been established for 200 to 245 hours in a year effectively.

Now with the new system, students in the district will go to school from Monday till Friday only.

From Monday to Thursday, children in PAUD learn from 8.00 to 11.00. While in elementary, grade one to three learn from 8.00 to 12.00.

The next, grade four to six from 8.00 to 13.00. While SMP (secondary school) students learn from 8.00 to 14.00 and SMA (senior high school) from 07.30 to 14.30.

Specially in Friday, students from PAUD till SMP learn from 8.00 to 11.00 and SMA from 7.30 to 11.00.

The application of five days school aims to increase quality of interaction and communication between students and their family at homes, in addition to enhance management capacity of each education unit.

"All of those important that education participants have much more time to interact in the family, while time to learn in school will be more delightful," he said.
