Shipping company PT Dharma Lautan Utama (DLU) readies 45 ships to serve Eid mudik (exodus) travelers in 2023 throughout Indonesia, one of which in Tanah Bumbu District, South Kalimantan.

"For the route from Samudera Batulicin Port to Tanjung Perak Harbor in Surabaya will be served by KM Dharma Kartika IX," said Head of PT DLU Batulicin Branch Jamirin here, Wednesday.

The ship is 176 meters long and 22 meters wide with a capacity of 1,609 passengers, 200 four-wheeled vehicles, and 64 six-wheeled vehicles, such as tronton and the like.

While preparing for ship, PT DLU Batulicin Branch added its personnel to improve its service quality for prospective passengers who want to get on or off the ship.

"We estimate this year that people's animo in using sea transportation will increase, that's why PT DLU begins to prepare for Eid transportation service for 2023," he said.

The expectation of increased interest from prospective passengers is also supported by government policy that has revoked public activity restriction (PPKM) several months ago.

To make passengers more comfortable while sailing, the ship is equipped with some facilities, such as beds, massages, haircuts, and medical services for free.

There are also stage room, sitting room, worship or prayer room, food court, cafetaria, and children's playroom. 

"For the time being there is adjustment for Batulicin-Surabaya ticket. IDR355,000 for adult, IDR270,000 for children, and IDR45,000 for infants, while class II vehicle IDR560,000, and class III vehicle is IDR2,450,000," he explained.

Hwever, he cannot confirmed for the ship departure schedule, while it is still in preparation.

"It is now still in preparation, insya Allah (God Willing) it will be completed in the near future. The we will release it soon," Jamirin said.
