The Regent of Tanah Bumbu H.M. Zairullah Azhar has ordered all village heads to immediately re-collecting data  (updating data) on poor residents.

"I give on week to record data on resaidents who are classified as poor and extremely poor," said Zairullah here on Wednesday.

The data, he said, will be used as a reference of the local government to alleviate poverty in the region.

Poverty data submitted by the Tanah Bumbu central Statistics Agent (BPS) currently reaches 17 thousand people, but it is very different from that of the district government's which is 6,000 people.

"(Because of) the asynchronous data, the district government took the initiative to collect data independently by involving village officials from the neighborhood unit (RT) level by visiting residents one by one to accertain how many poor people in Tanah Bumbu," he expounded.

When the data co=llection is completed, the district government will run a capital program
for poor people.

Each residents who has been registered as a poor citizen will receive a capital =assistance from the district government of IDR2 million-IDR5 million.

The fund will be allocated from the 2023 revised local budget (APBD) of more than IDR2 billion.

"We are targeting that in the next two months this program will be running, so that within the period of 2023 the poverty rate in Tanah Bumbu will be alleviated," Zairullah asserted.
