Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A wive of one of the tugboat Brahma 12 crews, allegedly held hostage by Abu Sayyaf militants in the Philippines border, asking the government to save her husband.


"At that time my husband called and said he'd been captured by pirates in the waters of Philippines," said Halimatus Sya`diah (28) here on Wednesday. She is Suriansyah's wife , one of the Brahma 12 tugboat crews, who allegedly in captivity.

She knew that her husband had been taken hostage by pirates in the Philippines because on Sunday (27/3) afternoon, her husband had contacted her by phone.

"I was shocked and cried when found out that my husband had been taken hostage by pirates in the Philippines, and I hope the government quickly save my husband and other crew members," she said tearfully.

Suriansyah is one of ten Brahma 12 tugboat crews pulling Anan 12 barge loaded with coal.

Brahma 12 tugboat was pulling Indonesian flagged Anan 12 when hijacked by a militant group. These two vessels departed from Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan.

Both ships were allegedly hijacked on its way from Sungai Puting South Kalimantan, to the Batangas area of ??southern Philippines.

Abu Sayyaf group who hijacked and took hostage 10 citizens of Indonesia was reportedly demanded a ransom of 50 million pesos, or about Rp15 billion.
