Amuntai, (Kalsel.Antaranews) - Nearly has been a week North Hulu Sungai (HSU) has been flooded due to overflow of Balangan River.


Regent of North Hulu Sungai Abdul Wahid on Sunday reviewing Danau Teratai Village area in Sub-district of Banjang, the worst area flooded and is the first attacked by most abundant water of Balangan River.

Most of homes in the village of Danau Teratai flooded, except mosque building and houses that have been elevated,

"The Village of Danau Teratai is worstly flooded, due to the remote location and means of transport between the houses is only a very small footbridge submerged in flooding," said Wahid.

Wahid said due to flooding means of transport that can reached only jukung or a traditional boat and boat through the village because the location is somewhat remote village.

Regent impressed with the village residents. Every year are always patient in facing flood. Wahid advised parents to keep children and to reduce outdoor activities during floods and maintaining health, because during the floods of various types of communicable disease.

The village head Mohammad Saeedi said Danau Teratai has a main road made of plank ironwood submerged in water, so transportation is only through perahu (boat). A village home to about 420 residents mostly work in agriculture and fisheries.
