The Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD) Speaker Syairi Mukhlis commended the district government for an increase in revenue in its 2022 district budget (APBD).

"The increase comes from taxes and profit sharing which reached Rp252 billion, as it was stated in the General Policy on Budget Priority of the Temporary Budget Ceiling (KUA-PPAS) in the 2022 budget changes," he informed as reported on Thursday.

The increase in the Kotabaru budget, he acknowledged, will have an impact on spending that goes up according to the programs needs, as well as the Regent's vision and mission.

According to the DPRD speaker, the increase in profit sharing has touched a 100 percent, while the increase in the local originated revenue (PAD) in the tax sector from one of the companies amounted to Rp63 billion.

However, Syairi asked the executive, especially the tax-producing goverment working units (SKPD) to work even more maximally to explore the protentia of income, all at once to evaluate the constraint that have caused in not optimal revenue.

"We the DPRD keep pushing the district government to find other potentials of local originated revenue, and we are sure that next year it will increase from this year," he said.
