The Assessment Team for Evaluation of Village Development in South Kalimantan declared Banjarsari Village of Angsana Sub-district, Tanah Bumbu District, was nominated as one of the best village in the province.

"In South Kalimantan three villages were nominated in the provincial level village competition, they were Banjarsari from Tanah Bumbu District, Karang Intan from Banjar District, and Tanta from Tabalong District," said Head of Tanah Bumbu Community and Village Empowerment (PMD) OfficeSamsir here on Monday.

He said the contest is in accordance with the Minister of Home Affairs' Regulation Number 81 of 2015 concerning Evaluation of Village and Urban Village Development. The competition is held in stages from the sub-district level to the national.

The election of Banjarsari as the nominee of the best village in South Kalimantan is expected to be a model for other villages in Bumi Bersujud (nickname of Tanah Bumbu District).

However, the most important thing, he continued, is the aim of the assessment to find out to what extent the village is able to implement village governance, development, and people empowerment.

Meanwhile, the evaluation team will provide direction and guidance in the effort to realize more advanced, independent, and prosperous regional and village development.

"Our hope is the Banjarsari Village will be the winner, so as to push enthusiasm and motivation for other villages to innovate," said Samsir.
