This year's Ramadan cake fair in Barito Kuala (Batola) District is packed differently than in previous years.
Not only offering typical cakes of Ramadan, those are rare and very difficult to find outside Ramadan, but the organizing committee also adds it with knick-knack, and provides a place for iftar (breaking fast) and a place for Magrib prayer as well as Tarawih prayer in congregation.
They also displaying what so called as Islamic nuanced art to enliven the atmosphere and to entertain visitor while waiting time for iftar.
Ramadan cake fair at the area of 5 Desember Field, Marabahan, was officiated by Regent Hj Noormiliyani AS, Sunday (April 3, 2022) afternoon.
“By offering this concept we hope this will drive people's economic recovery after being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic in the last two years,” Chief of organizing committee Hj Raudatul Jannah pointed out.
This acting head of Youth, Sports, Culture, and Tourism Agency (Disporbudpar) expounded that 20 culinary booths for iftar are prepared along Pematang Bastus Park, then 25 takeaway booths along the roadside in front of Telkom office, and 21 Ramadhan knick-knack boxes, that sell dates and coconut are prepared at the font of field tribune of 5 Desember Field, Marabahan.
“For the convenience of visitors for iftar, we provide a place for prayer and ablution as well as imam for those who want to perform congretational prayers both Magrib and Tarawih,” she said.

This idea, explained th former chairwoman of the South Kalimantan DPRD, was inspired by the successful implementation of the people's market which was held in the series of the Batola's 62nd anniversary in January 2022.
