Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A total of 142 hotspots were found scattered in several sub-districts in Kotabaru, South Kalimantan.


"The hotspots were detected by Aqua Terra Satellite (Modis) on Wednesday at 17:00," said Head of the Kotabaru Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Irian Noor through the Disaster Management Section Head Sugeng here on Wednesday.

Based on reports from Data Center and South Kalimantan Disaster Management Agency, Modis has detected 382 hotspots in South Kalimantan.

Of 382 hotspots in South Kalimantan, Kotabaru which has 202 villages and 21 sub-districts is the most dominant area with hotspots.

Hotspots detected by Aqua Terra satellite were spread across 12 of 13 sub-districts in the province of South Kalimantan. In Banjarbaru found 8 hotspots, Banjar 26 hotspots, Tanah Laut 12 hotspots, Kotabaru 142 hotspots, Barito Kuala 44 hotspots, and Tanah Bumbu 53 hotspots.

In Tapin district found 33 hotspots, South Hulu Sungai 40 hotspots, and Central Hulu Sungai one hotspot, North Hulu Sungai 19 hotspots, Balangan three hotspots, and Tabalong one hotspot.
