Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of the Kotabaru Regional Disaster Management (BLHD) Irian Noor declared the district today in disaster emergency of land and forest fires.


"As a precaution, Kotabaru district formed an integrated team of fire disaster management and set up integrated command post within the regional secretariat," said Noor Irian here onThursday.

The integrated team comprised of the ranks of the Army, Police, Forest Service, Navy, as well as regional work units (SKPD) related.

The team will work in the command post that effectively began to be formed when the emergency is declared as an area of ​​land and forest fire disasters until the end of November 2015.

Hopefully, with the establishment of the team and the construction of post as the center of activities and monitoring, land and forest fire in Kotabaru can be minimized and do no harm.

Team activities will be supported by adequate infrastructure, such as six fire trucks with high-capacity and three tanks supply trucks each with a capacity of 5,000 liters.

In addition, the team will also be supported by reliable human resources in the field, especially from BPBDs trained in fire fighting, both in neighborhoods and in the region.

"In Kotabaru no peat smoke, a fire is only temporary because immediately extinguished. In contrast with peat smoke where it is difficult to extinguish and also dangerous," said Irian.

He said, seven hotspots found in Kotabaru on Wednesday (16/9), spread across a number of areas.

"Fire almost every day in the border region of Kotabaru, like, Sungai Durian, Sengayam and surroundings," said Irian.
