Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Regent Tabalong Syakhfiani Anang said that if the drop in coal prices still continue in the coming years, PT Adaro Indonesia needs to do a number of strategies, such as diversification.


One is through the construction of steam fueled power plant (PLTU) and a cattle business in anticipation of minimizing layoffs among miners, said Anang on Adaro HRD and Partners Forum last Thursday.

"Continuity of operations of PT Adaro Indonesia are very influential and have a major impact on the various aspects of community life here. Therefore the economic conditions are still sluggish at this time it is important to continue to keep conducivieness that have been built better in Tabalong," he said.

Anang said looking at a number of coal producing regions who currently experiencing decline, Tabalong should be grateful still overcame similar problems.

The local government is also preparing measures the investment climate here to stay awake in the middle of the current economic slowdown, such as one stop licensing for a quickhandling.

District with the epithet `Earth Saraba Kawa` will be the next investment option after Banjarmasn City, therefore it need to attempt to maintain a conducive investment climate.

Factually, External Relations Division Head of PT Adaro Indonesia Rizki Dartaman recognized, a decrease in the selling price of coal annually has significant impact on the company's operations.

"I think no one can predict when the coal price improvement is, but Adaro realized that a policy of laying off employees is not an option. To avoid this, Adaro has prepared a number of strategies, including the efficiency of management of budget," said Rizki.
