Balangan, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Balangan Health Agency official said never issued a satatement about meatballs containing pork in the district.


"We never conduct any examination of meatballs containing pork, so we never issue such satatement now circulating in the community," said Akhmad Nasa'i, Head of Health Services of Balangan Health Agency, Thursday (20/8).

He admitted there had been public complaints related to the discovery of the skin with a small feather in one meatball stall. Once checked in cooperation with BPOM and the Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Agency it turned out beef skin.

Akhmad Nasa'i explaining the authority to issue a statement is at BPOM South Kalimantan in Banjarmasin which is then forwarded by the local health service to the community.

"Even if people suspect that some foods containing borax, formalin, dyes or containing pork, they can bring samples to the Balangan Health Agency," he said.

Furthermore, the local health office in cooperation with BPOM  and agencies that can do the testing, will conduct laboratory tests and announce the results later.

Associated with JJ Paringin Meatballs, which is rumored to contain pork, he said it was not true, moreover reportedly that the Balangan Health Agency who issued the statement.

"Issues like this can harm other people, even libelous, both traders and Balangan Health Agency," he said.

JJ meatballs itself had examined for the content of borax, formalin, dyes rodamen B, and methilin yellow dye, and the results of lab tests turned out to JJ meatballs are free from such substances.
