“Passenger capacity for air transportation has been allowed to be more than 70 percent,” the ministry’s spokesperson, Adita Irawati, informed at an online press conference on "Regulation of Domestic Travel Along with the Decline of COVID-19 cases", accessed from here on Thursday.
However, airlines are required to leave three rows of seats vacant as quarantine areas for passengers exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, she informed.

The maximum capacity at airport terminals has also been set at 70 percent of the number of passengers during the busy period under normal conditions, she said.
Meanwhile, land transport in regions enforcing Level 3 and 4 of community activity restrictions (PPKM) may operate with a maximum of 70 percent passenger capacity, she added.
In regions applying Level 1 and 2 PPKM, the passenger capacity can be raised up to 100 percent, Irawati said.
Furthermore, in areas with Level 4 PPKM assessment, the passenger capacity for sea transport has been capped at 50 percent, she added.

Meanwhile, the capacity has been capped at 70 percent in Level 3 PPKM areas and 100 percent in Level 1 and 2 PPKM assessment areas, she informed.
In addition, the capacity of intercity trains has been capped at 70 percent, while local urban trains have been allowed to run with a maximum passenger capacity of 50 percent, she said.
Electric multiple units in agglomeration areas can only operate with a maximum of 32 percent of total passengers, Irawati informed.
"We ask all transportation operators to socialize the new regulation, thus passengers can understand it well," she said.
The ministry has also urged operators to always supervise the implementation of the health protocols at transportation facilities by officers and passengers, she added.
