Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsl) - The Government of Tanah Laut District, South Kalimantan, asked the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) to immediately set up land and forest fire prevention post.


"To all ranks of the Tanah Laut Regional Disaster Management Agency be on full alert as early as possible to anticipate forest and land fires, as well as residential, in the dry season," said Vice Regent Sukamta here on Friday.

According to him, in addition to establish the post coordination (Posko), BPBD also should prepare equipment and other apparatus in the prevention of forest and land fires.

Regent Bambang Alamsyah added, entering the dry season people are asked to keep the environment in order to avoid the danger of forest and land fires.

Head of Forestry Agency Ahmad Hairin said, in anticipation of wildfires, since 2014 it has established 12 Fire Concerned Citizens Group (MPA) in charge of helping to extinguish forest and land fires.

MPA groups each have 10-11 members. MPA group is an arm of the Forestry Agency formed in the region prone to fires.
