Banjarbaru Mayor H M Aditya Mufti Ariffin said the level 4 public activity restriction (PPKM) in the city is extended until August 9, 2021 after previously ended on August 2, 2021.

"The extension of level PPKM is in accordance with the instruction of Banjarbaru Forkopimda No. 180/2/KUM/2021 which is valid from August 2 to August 9, 2021," said the Mayor in Banjarbaru, Monday.

He said that the Forkopimda instruction refers to the speech of the President of Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace on August 2, 2021, which announced the extension of the implementation of level 4 PPKM for outside Java and Bali.

Considering the situation, it is necessary to take measures to anticipate the spread and effort to handle the pandemic properly, quickly, and precisely, so it does not develop into a disturbance to public security and order.

The provision in the instruction regulates the implementation of activities in the non-essential sector 100 percent work from home (WFH), while teaching and learning activities are carried out online.

Essential sector activities apply 50 percent WFH, daily critical 100 percent mandatory health protocols, export industry and the supporting sector apply a maximum of 50 percent health protocols.

Construction activities operate 100 percent with the obligation of wearing masks and maintaining distance. 

Shopping centers/malls/trade centers are regulated as follows. Tenants who serve basic needs and medicines until 20.00 WITA (Central Indonesia Time). Tenants who serve food and beverage are not allowed to serve dine-in and do not provide seats, only take away allowed until 20.00. Others of the related places above are not allowed to operate during PPKM.

Shops, tenants selling basic goods are open until 20.00 with 50 percent capacity using masks and maintaining distance.

People's market that sells basic needs is open as usual with the obligation of wearing masks, maintain distance, and provide washing hands.

People's markets that sell other than daily basic needs open with a maximum capacity of 50 percent until 15.00.

Street vendors, grocery stores, voucher agents/outlets, barbershops, laundry, hawkers, small workshops, vehicle washing, and other similar small business are allowed to open until 21.00 but must wear masks, maintain distance, and provide washing hands.

Pharmacies and drug stores are allowed to open 24 hours also obliged to wear masks, maintain distance, and provide washing hands.

Restaurants, cafes, do not serve eating or drinking on the spot and only serve delivery/take away until 20.00 with workers must wear masks, maintain distance, and provide washing hands.
