Amuntai, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Tornado disaster again hit several villages in North Hulu Sungai (HSU) on Wednesday evening before sunset.
Kayakah village in the sub-district of South Amuntai, the worst affected village, hit by the storm which also hit almost all areas in South Kalimantan.
In the Kayakah village, heavy rains accompanied by strong winds caused four houses badly damaged and two people injured. Currently, both the victim were handled by medical team.
Kayakah Village Head Mursidi said, the victim he knew one from Kayakah and the other a resident of Padang Tanggul Village.
Mursidi said the incident occurred before sunset, in the rain which flushed parts of HSU, suddenly appeared whirlwind accompanied by the sound of thunder boomed.
Some residents aware of the tornado, immediately rushed out of the house while saving family members and possessions.
"It happened so fast, suddenly tornado has devastated the roof and the building of homes and its contents," said Mursidi.
Until 20.30 pm, the head of the village has not received reports of casualties. There are only two villagers were injured, one person was rushed to Tilaga Silaba community health center because of his injury quite severe.
The situation became more difficult, when village experienced blackout after a tornado.
