Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Navy based in Kotabaru District ready to operate the KRI Mutatuli 561 to help distribute staple food stuff to Pulau Sembilan, isolated due to the unavailability of public transport ship.


"If the local government declared an emergency, we are ready to operate KRI Mutatuli 561 to distribute groceries to Pulau Sembilan," said Marine Lt. Col. Bagus Handoko, Commander of Kotabaru Naval Base here on Monday.

Kotabaru Navy Commander (Danlanal) deliver it after a coordination meeting with the Regional Leadership Forum, together with the Office Kotabaru Harbor Master and Port Authority, and local assembly, related postponement of the operation of the ship pilot to Pulau Sembilan, Kotabaru.

Danlanal claims will operate KRI Mutatuli to transport groceries and passengers to Pulau Sembilan till the availability of public transport.

"If necessary we are ready to cruise once, twice or as requested by the local government," he explained.

KRI Muatuli 561 has a capacity of 100 passengers while carrying about 100 metric tons of goods.

Regent Kotabaru H Irhami Ridjani explains, local government will examine first before making the statement in an emergency.
