The Tabalong District Police together with Trade and Industry Office (Disperindag) tried to secure the supply of 3 kg canisters of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by patrolling the capital.

The team led by Tabalong Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr (AKBP) Muchdori raided shops that sold 3 kg LPG in Tanjung.

"We found four shops selling 3 kg LPG above normal price," Muchdori said.

They were three shops in Belimbing Raya Urban Village and one shop in Mabuun Urban Village, Murung Pudak Sub-district.

Disperindag confiscated 89 LPG canisters in their operation, 16 canisters containing gas, and the rest were empty.

The joint team gave a warning to the four shops for selling 3 kg LPG above the normal price.

“The scarcity of LPG has the potential for social conflict among the community," he said.

To prevent this, the Tabalong Police and related agencies actively went down to the field to monitor people's activities related to the difficulty of obtaining the gas.

Muchdori hopes all levels of society not to take advantage of the pandemic situation by hoarding 3 kg LPG to sell it above the normal price.
