Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Australia through its grant aids project work of 2,000 installation connections of Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) for low-incomes communities (known here as MBR) in Banjarmasin.


"Actually the WWTP 2000 lines project should be completed in 2014, but the Regional Wastewater Treatment Company (PAL) has not been able to finish," said Acting Director of PD PAL Banjarmasin H Syaiful Hifmi here on Thursday.

Fortunately, the Australian Government through AusAID funds give an extension of time, and do not stop the grant program, and PD PAL was given the opportunity to continue the project in 2000 until 2015 for MBR connection.

He welcomed the tolerance for free sustainable sanitation connections assistance will be enjoyed by the community. Moreover, MBR grants very spur towards the MDGs is very necessary, given the PD PAL customers are not charged for six-month bills, and to increase the number of PD PAL customers.

Currently its customers is still below 6,000 from a total of 750 thousand inhabitants of the city of Banjarmasin.

Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PD PAL Banjarmasin H Zulfadli Ghazali, who also is Banjarmasin Regional Secretary reminds PD PAL to be increasingly innovative and creative to find new customers.
