Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarmasin Mayor Haji Muhidin said green festival which coincides Spatial Day 2014 became a vehicle to inspire people to love the environment.
"I am proud of so many people attended the 'green festival` held by Forum Komunitas Hijau (Green Community Forum or FKH). This proves that people actually love the environment," said Mayor accompanied by Vice Mayor Irwan Ansari in Banjarmasin on Sunday.
Mayor hopes activities to invite people to love environment should be appreciated and expected not only FKH who hold an event like this but also other organizations, including government agencies.
According to Muhidin, the city he led was determined to be a green city. It is necessary need synergy between the government and the community to create a region that implement eight attributes of a green city.
Eight attributes are green planning and design, green open space, green energy, green water, green waste, green building, green transportation, and green community.
In a green festival 28 exhibition stand displays the ability of students and communities create a healthy environment, including waste treatment or waste into valuable goods, engineering green energy, water purification, and others.
The activity marked by bike parade also sharing hundreds of greening trees seedlings freely to the public, as well as the release of green campaigns by cycling 488 kilometers through several cities and regions in South Kalimantan, while planting 488 trees.
