Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - PT PLN predicted Asam-Asam power plant unit 3 repairment will be completed on Tuesday morning, so no more blackouts in both South and Central Kalimantan.


"Asam-Asam steam-fueled power plant unit 3 still under repair, so that rolling blackouts are still enforced," said Plant Manager of PT PLN South and Central Kalimantan Region Anang Wijayanta in Banjarbaru Monday.

Damage to the unit 3 occurred since the beginning of October and the second is the damage after it was repaired and operating normally. Previous damage because there was an indicator of excessive water usage and immediately repaired so that the condition back to normal.

"But the damage was spread to other parts, so technicians now focus  repair damage due to leakage of pipes," he said.

The damage to the power plant unit 3 caused Barito Electrical System which covers whole area of ​​South and Central Kalimantan loses 65 MW of electric power.

Four units of Asam-Asam steam-fueled power plant if all operating generate 260 Mega Watts of electric power plus other sources from diesel and rental generator.

"Barito Electrical Power Systems capable of producing 480 megawatts and 460 megawatts of peak load, but because the unit 3 stops operating, so the power is reduced," he said.

He said, repairment expected to be completed Tuesday morning so they can enter the system and a power capable of gradually returned to normal with no longer outages.
